Our math instructors have developed this assessment tool to assist you in determining the most suitable math course to begin with at BTC. Our goal is twofold: to help you avoid unnecessary courses and ensure you start on a path that aligns with your readiness, setting the stage for your success. Your honesty and self-awareness regarding your math proficiency are essential for us to provide the most accurate recommendations.
There are no failing grades associated with this self-assessment. Its purpose is to evaluate your current knowledge and understanding of mathematics. Upon completion, you will receive a personalized recommendation for a math course. Subsequently, you'll have the opportunity to review the assessment results with your College Navigator and make an informed decision about your course selection under their guidance.
Please note that completing the assessment is a prerequisite before you can schedule a meeting with a Navigator.
How does this process work?
Step 1:
Choose your desired program at BTC. If your program requires a math course, you'll proceed to the corresponding assessment. Otherwise, you'll skip the assessment and receive further instructions on the subsequent page.
Step 2:
Complete your contact information and a brief questionnaire about your math background.
Step 3:
Access and complete the required math course assessment. If your program offers multiple options, select the assessment aligned with your desired degree. Although there's no time limit, the system can't save your responses, so aim to finish the assessment in one session, typically requiring about 30-45 minutes).
Step 4:
Based on your assessment responses, you’ll receive a recommendation for a math course. Follow the steps outlined on the recommendation page. Afterwards, feel free to explore additional math assessments as you desire.
