Mission Statement

Bellingham Technical College LIbrary and Media Services supports the growing and changing information and distance education needs of the BTC communities in an environment which encourages learning and student success. The Library and Media Services provide responsive, individualized service and an accessible gateway to diverse resources.

The Library's collection includes books, eBooks, journals, and multimedia items. The Library is a resource for students, faculty, and the community. Users are encouraged to ask librarians for help in using the wide range of resources.

The Library offers a gateway to information through an online catalog, subscription databases (many are full-text), access to local area libraries' collections (See Reciprocal Agreements and Interlibrary Loans, below), Internet searching and word processing, database management and spreadsheet software.

Tours and instruction in the use of Library's resources are given to classes on request and individual directional assistance is always provided.

Study Areas

The library is spacious and accommodates a variety of individual and group study needs. In addition to roomy computer workstations in the Information Commons area, there are many comfortable seating options. 8 media-enhanced quiet and group study rooms are available for up to two hours of reserved use.
