Weekend Degree Checklist

The weekend degree programs have been designed with working adults in mind. Many circumstances can cause a person to stop out of a degree program. Belmont Technical College has many delivery formats to help with degree completion, including evening, on-line, and now weekend classes. The successful candidate is a structured, motivated, mature student. Completing the coursework will be more challenging than our typical eleven week classes, but definitely doable.

If you are interested in our Business Management or Accounting Associates Degrees offered in a weekend format, please be sure to look over the checklist shown below. Some of these steps can be completed concurrently.

  • All students initially registering for college-credit courses at Belmont Technical College must complete a three-part placement test (reading, writing skills, and elementary algebra). Placement test scores will determine placement into developmental courses of mathematics, grammar/writing, and reading. Developmental courses are designated with a course number beginning with zero and can include the following: ENG081, ENG082, ENG083, ENG093, ENG094, MAT094, MAT095, and MAT097. These developmental courses are four (4) credits each. Academic Advisors can assist students in scheduling developmental courses. Placement testing is done on a scheduled basis and scored immediately. Phone the Charles W. Kocher Student Success Center at (740)695-9500 or (800)423-1188 extension 1080 to register. Students exempt from a placement test are:
