1. What courses are needed for a Degree in Information Technology: Information Services

Information Technology: Information Services - Distance Education program combines General electives with Technology core, Information Services and Specialty option.  Students may select from the four majors ;  Business Support Specialty, Information Support Specialty, Library Communication Specialty or  Library Paraprofessional Specialty and may custom design their degree with selected Specialty Options.  See course information for degree requirements. 

2. What are the advantages/benefits of Distant Education courses?

Distance Education courses enables students to have a greater control over the learning process as well as flexibility in schedule  and have the convince of not having to travel to campus for class.

3. What makes a successful distance learner?

You have to be self-motivated, be able to organize a course work schedule and be able to manage your time. 

4. What is  required to take online courses?

To take web-based Distance Education courses students need access to the Internet, have an electronic mail account and knowledge of basic computer operations.

5. Is Belmont Technical College accredited?

Belmont Technical College is accredited by: Higher Learning Commission - A Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.

6. Can credits be transferred to Belmont Technical College?

Students are able to transfer credits to Belmont Technical college.  Submit you transcripts to the Admissions office.

7. Can students take online courses offered by other colleges and universities?

S tudents should consult their advisor before taking any other online courses that will be applied to this degree program.  To find another accredited online course students can consult Ohio Learning Network website.

8. Is it possible to receive credit for job experiences?

Some students may qualify for Credit for Life Experience.  Contact Cathy Bennett for further information.
