Phi-Theta Kappa

|
|
Phi Theta Kappa is the international honor society of the two-year
college. Since its founding in 1918, the purpose of Phi Theta
Kappa has been to recognize and encourage scholarship among
two-year college students. To achieve this purpose, the society
provides opportunity for the development of leadership and service,
for an intellectual climate for exchange of ideas and ideals,
for lively fellowship for scholars, and for stimulation of interest
in continuing academic excellence.
Members are recognized internationally for their academic achievements
and honored at graduation ceremonies by the wearing of honor
cords. Membership may open up opportunities for scholarships
for those students wanting to transfer to a four-year college
or university.
