Our Students
Belmont Technical College students have gone on to pursue fulfilling careers in many disciplines. The education they received here has enabled many to find good paying, challenging jobs that enable them to better provide for themselves and their families.
Some of our students have gone on to many positions in the business world including junior accountants, accountants, bookkeepers, payroll clerks, business managers, purchasing agents, fiscal analysts, and long range financial planners.
Numerous grads of the Building Preservation Technology Program have found employment as preservation technicians with historic sites including Williamsburg, Monticello, Graceland, Lyndhurst, and Greenfield Village to name a few.
Graduates of the Business Management Program are working their way into management positions, starting at the trainee level with a good starting salary. Starting positions are available in fields such as manufacturing, services, retailing, transportation, and others.
Students graduating with a specialization in Child Development find employment in Head Start, public and private day care centers, preschools, group homes for children, early intervention agencies and related facilities.
Graduates of the Cisco Systems Networking Academy find jobs designing, building, maintaining and troubleshooting networks.
Civil Engineering graduates find jobs assisting in the design and supervision of highway and construction projects, are employed in the field of materials analysis and testing, or assist consulting engineers in private practice.
A degree in computer graphics and multimedia has become critical for the computer professional. They find jobs designing and developing professional looking materials including pages for placement on the Web, computerized slide presentations, and camera-ready print copy. Other graduates find careers with companies that utilize computers in business, computation and control activities, as well as companies that design, manufacture, market, install and service computers and networking equipment.
Criminal Justice graduates find careers in a variety of positions dealing with adults and juveniles in the private sector and with numerous public agencies at all levels of government.
Data processing students, upon graduation are ready for an entry-level data processing position in a computer center. Others find junior programming positions. After some experience, our graduates can become senior programmer/systems analysts
The web has made on-line shopping possible for both businesses and individual consumers. Those educated in electronic commerce start their own businesses or find employment with companies that want increased sales opportunities.
Microcomputer Applications majors function within the business environment using microcomputers in businesses that need experienced users of productivity packages, along with knowledge in operating systems, telecommunications, and computer graphics.
Graduates of our mental health programs find careers with community mental health centers, substance abuse centers, treatment centers (inpatient and outpatient) for emotionally disturbed children and teens, senior citizen programs, and advocates for these types of services.
Administrative assistants are at the center of communications within many firms. In many fields, men and women trained in administrative assistant work find it a stepping stone toward a management position.
BTC is doing its part to answer the nationwide shortage of nurses by graduating students who are competent in the scientific and technical aspects of nursing yet are able to deal with patients and families in empathetic, caring ways.
Graduates from the Electro-Mechanical program will find many positions in industry, mining, manufacturing and industry. Starting wages for these positions are often well above average.
