Maistros Receives Prestigious Award from Ohio Association of Community Colleges
Michael G. Maistros received the Friend of Community Colleges Award from the Ohio Association of Community Colleges (OACC) for his work advancing the causes of Belmont Technical College (BTC) to the community.
The Belmont Technical College Board of Trustees nominated Maistros as a part of the annual OACC Recognition Awards program. According to Dr. Joseph E. Bukowski, BTC President, Maistros was nominated because of his leadership in creating the college Foundation and for the scholarships he has provided through the former Bell Nursing Home.
"Mike Maistros has advanced the work of the college by providing strong leadership in the creation of giving programs that will benefit students for many years to come," said Bukowski. "Through his leadership the college now has a charitable foundation and the beginnings of a culture of giving throughout the college."
The Friend of Community Colleges Award is the highest honor the OACC gives to non-trustees. Maistros was honored at the OACC Annual Meeting and Excellence Awards Luncheon held recently in Columbus , Ohio .
