Graduation

How do I get my degree? Submit a Graduation Application

If you are completing your program and wish to receive a degree or certificate, you must complete and submit a Graduation Application online.

Processing this Graduation Application allows the College to review your certificate or degree requirements using Degree Audit, determine your final completion, post your certificate or degree to your transcript, and provide a diploma. There is NO COST for processing the application. Following verification of completion and posting to your transcript, you will be sent your certificate or degree diploma. While we may award and post degrees and certificates without a Graduation Application, only students who submit a Graduation Application will receive a diploma.

Timing

To ensure timely processing of your program completion, please submit your Graduation Application by the second week of the quarter in which you plan to complete your certificate or degree. Late applications will be accepted, but may not be processed until the following quarter.

The process of verifying completion of graduation requirements, awarding and posting degrees and certificates, and mailing diplomas takes 8-10 weeks.

  1. After final official quarterly grades are posted on the third day after the end of your final quarter, the verification process can begin for all potential graduates.
  2. When verification of all completion requirements is completed, your certificate or degree will be posted to your transcript. The Degree posting on your Official Transcript is proof of completion.
  3. Lastly, diplomas are processed and mailed.

You will be notified in writing if your application has been denied.

Regarding Catalog Versions: If you are continuously enrolled (i.e. no breaks except for Summer quarter), you may graduate under all catalog versions active during your enrollment provided all classes are available and completed. If you have a break in enrollment, you must graduate under catalog versions active AFTER you return to BTC.

If you have questions about graduation or an address change for mailing your diploma, contact Registration at 360-752-8348.

If I participate in Commencement and then complete my program requirements in a later quarter, do I need to do anything to get my diploma (degree/certificate)?
